Fallout 4 Perks Rated: Intelligence

Fallout 4 Perks Rated

Previously I did a post about the Perception perks, now it’s time for the Intelligence Perks! Intelligence as a SPECIAL stat gives you more experience points earned which means you will level faster. Intelligence offers some good perks, unfortunately just like Perception the level 10 perk is one most Fallout players never use. However, level 10 Intelligence is a must have if your character is named Bruce Banner. The rating will be * to *** stars again and Intelligence seems to have some must-have perks in storage for us! For the other Fallout 4 perks check Perception (19 stars)Strength (19 stars)Agility (21 stars)Charisma (21 stars)Luck (21 stars) and Endurance (13 stars).

V.A.N.S.***
Fallout 4 Perk: Pickpocket
I. Let Vault-Tec guide you! The path to your closest quest target is displayed in V.A.T.S.

Rating: I think this will save you a lot of time, which means you will level faster. I suggest this is the first perk you take when you level up in the first playthrough!

Medic**
Fallout 4 Perk: Medic
I. Is there a doctor in the house? Stimpaks restore 40% of lost Health, and RadAway removes 40% of radiation.
II. Stimpaks restore 60% of lost Health, and RadAway removes 60% of radiation. (Requirement: Level 18)
III. Stimpaks restore 80% of lost Health, and RadAway removes 80% of radiation. (Requirement: Level 30)
IV. Stimpaks and RadAway restore all lost health and radiation, and work much more quickly. (Requirement: Level 46)

Rating: Depending on what difficulty you play (and how difficult it actually turns out to be) this can be very good. You will get more damage and find less stimpacks on higher difficulties so this will even it out.

Gun Nut***
Fallout 4 Perk: Gun Nut
I. You gain access to base level and Rank 1 gun mods
II. You gain access to Rank 2 gun mods. (Requirement: Level 10)
III. You gain access to Rank 3 gun mods. (Requirement: Level 25)
IV. You gain access to Rank 4 gun mods. (Requirement: Level 39)

Rating: This is a must-have for every gun user, it will most likely provide you with the most powerful guns in the game.

Hacker**
Fallout 4 Perk: Hacker
I. Knowledge of cutting-edge computer encryption allows you to hack Advanced terminals
II. You can hack Expert terminals. (Requirement: Level 9)
III. You can hack Master terminals. (Requirement: Level 21)
IV. When hacking, you never get locked out of a terminal when things go wrong. (Requirement: Level 33)

Rating: If hacking is anything like the recent Fallout games, you won’t need to get the 4th rank of this perk. Just exit the terminal and start over! The other three are probably needed if you want to access every place in the wasteland!

Scrapper***
Fallout 4 Perk: Scrapper
I. Waste not, want not! You can salvage uncommon components like screws, aluminum, and copper when scrapping weapons and armor.
II. You can salvage rare components like circuitry, nuclear material, and fiber optics when scrapping weapons and armor. Items with favorited components are highlighted. (Requirement: Level 23)

Rating: Crafting will be very important in Fallout 4, breaking down weapons and other will give you a chance to find rare parts you need for crafting the best items in the game, think armor, weapons and stuff for your settlement.

Science!***
Fallout 4 Perk: Science
I. Take full advantage of advanced technology with access to base level and Rank 1 high-tech mods.
II. You gain access to Rank 2 high-tech mods. (Requirement: Level 17)
III. You gain access to Rank 3 high-tech mods. (Requirement: Level 23)
IV. You gain access to Rank 4 high-tech mods. (Requirement: Level 41)

Rating: You will get you really good items (weapons, both ranged and melee, armor and stuff like turrets for your settlements) from this perk, but it will be most important late game. Everyone should take this perk at some point in the game.

Chemist*
Fallout 4 Perk: Chemist
I. Any chems you take last 50% longer. Far out.
II. Any chems you take now last twice as long. (Requirement: Level 16)
III. Any chems you take now last an additional 150% longer. (Requirement: Level 32)
IV. Any chems you take now last an additional 200% longer. (Requirement: Level 45)

Rating: Chems have always been good in Fallout, but for some reason I didn’t really use them very often. It’s only really needed in the higher difficulty settings.

Robotics Expert**
Fallout 4 Perk: Robotics Expert
I. Machines will always serve humans, if you have anything to say about it. Hack a robot, and gain a chance to power it on or off, or initiate a self-destruct.
II. When you successfully hack a robot, you can incite it to attack. (Requirement: Level 19)
III. When you successfully hack a robot, you can give it specific commands. (Requirement: Level 44)

Rating: This perk is very situational if you are in an area with a lot of Robots it can be very strong and useful, but overall damage increase is much stronger and more useful.

Nuclear Physicist***
Fallout 4 Perk: Nuclear Physicist
I. You’ve learned to split the atom… and command it. Radiation weapons do 50% more damage and Fusion Cores last an extra 25% longer.
II. Radiation weapons now do double damage and Fusion Cores last an extra 50% longer. (Requirement: Level 14)
III. Fusion Cores can be ejected from Power Armor like devastating grenades and Fusion Cores last twice as long. (Requirement: Level 26)

Rating: This is definitely a must-have for every radiation weapon user. Damage increase is huge and the other benefits are nice too.

Nerd Rage!*
Fallout 4 Perk: Nerd Rage!
I. Genius. Is. ANGRY! When your Health drops below 20%, time slows and you gain +20 Damage resistance and do 20% more damage while the effect lasts.
II. You now gain 30 more Damage Resistance and do 30% more damage while Nerd Rage is in effect. (Requirement: Level 31)
III. You now gain 40 more Damage Resistance and do 40% more damage while Nerd Rage is in effect. Kills you make while enraged restore some lost Health. (Requirement: Level 50)

Rating: Another disappointing rank 10 perk for me, never used it in the previous Fallout. It just isn’t worth the 10 Intelligence, although it could be a lifesaver in some sticky situations. High Intelligence will make you level up faster, but I think it’s only around 3% per point, so I don’t think too many players will max this to start with. Too much cool stuff in the other SPECIAL perks!
