How to Uninstall Windows 10 Updates

Last week Windows 10 installed a graphic card driver that broke most of my games. Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm were among the games that crashed before really starting. It could have been only full-screen games because Hearthstone which I’m playing in windowed mode didn’t seem to have any problems.

Anyway, I knew Windows installed two updates, so I opened my control panel and went to “View installed updates” but the two updates installed were nowhere to be found. So the regular option of just uninstalling through the control panel wasn’t going to work. I just couldn’t find any options to uninstall these specific updates. So I went searching for an alternative way to uninstall Windows 10 updates or even rollback easily to an earlier state of the Windows 10 installation follow the following steps.

1. Hold down “Shift”

2. Reboot your computer using the start menu.

3. This will boot the “Troubleshoot” menu of Windows 10. Next you will have two options, either uninstalling an update or rolling back the whole Windows 10 installation.

4a. Follow “Uninstall Preview Updates” to uninstall an update.

5a. Choose your Windows account and fill in your password.

6a. Uninstall the preview updates.

4b. Click “Advanced Options”

5b. Go to “System Restore” and choose a restore point before the problem occurred.

For me, it was a graphic driver problem, but any problem caused by a Windows 10 update is fixed by uninstalling the update or rolling back to a previous state of your Windows 10 installation.
